Two Months In: A Quick Update from L8pro
Almost two months since L8pro started: assessments completed for partners across the UK, new working relationships taking shape, and progress on an assessment tool I'm building alongside the day job.
It has been almost two months since L8pro started, and it feels like a reasonable point to stop and write down where things are.
The work
The short version: it works. Since launching, I have completed multiple Legionella risk assessments for water hygiene and treatment partners, on projects spread across the UK. I will not name sites or clients here - confidentiality is part of the offer, and it stays that way - but the range has been genuinely varied, which is exactly what keeps this work interesting.
The model I set out to run is holding up in practice. Partners bring me in for a site, a batch, or an overflow week. I attend, do the survey myself, and deliver the report in their template, under their brand, to their sign-off process. No subcontracting on, no surveyor pool, no diluted findings. One senior consultant, on the file from start to finish.
The relationships
The part I did not want to take for granted is the relationships, and that is where most of the last two months has quietly gone. Doing a good assessment is table stakes. Being easy to work with - clear on scope, quick to turn a report around, available afterwards to talk findings through with a site team - is what turns a one-off job into a standing arrangement.
That is starting to happen, and it is the bit I am most pleased about. A consultancy like this lives or dies on repeat work and referral, not on marketing spend.
The tool taking shape behind it
Alongside the assessment work, I have been building something. It is a tool for Legionella risk assessments - initially for my own use on site, to make capture faster and reports tighter, aligned to how the work actually flows rather than how a back-office would like it filed.
It is early, and I want to be clear about what it is and is not. It does not change what L8pro is: an independent consultancy that does the work. The tool is there to support that work, not replace it. If it turns into something useful for the wider sector, I will share more here as it develops - but the assessments come first.
Looking ahead
Two months in, the direction is set: keep delivering senior-led assessments for partners who need reliable capacity, keep the relationships strong, and keep sharpening the tools behind the work.
